John Hare’s journey in animal health began in the fields and barns, where he saw firsthand the challenges faced by livestock farmers. In 1997, he began researching a new health technology which he named “MEGGABIOTICS”, where the immune systems of laying hens are used to produce Antibodies, which can be fed to food producing animals to prevent disease and improve performance. His company now had a treatment and mission to deliver practical, science-driven solutions for swine and cattle—addressing critical issues like infectious diseases and productivity losses. His first breakthrough came with Hyper-Egg, a line of livestock treatments that combined rapid efficacy  with farmer-friendly administration. He registered the World’s first Veterinary Medicine using this technology in 2007.

These early innovations earned trust in agricultural communities, reducing mortality rates and elevating standards of care.

But John’s vision didn’t stop there.

As pet ownership grew and veterinary medicine advanced, he recognized a parallel need: safer, simpler and more targeted therapies for cats and dogs. Drawing on decades of expertise with farm animals, John’s team pivoted their research to companion animals. In 2022, they unveiled a groundbreaking expansion of the MEGGABIOTICS technology and started the MEGGAVET brand: Polyclonal antibody therapies designed specifically for pets.
